Play Turmali moves audience with a sublime performance
With the objective of creating awareness about breast cancer and its repercussion on the patient, 'Turmali' was staged at Tribal Museum under its Abhinayan series. Directed by NSD graduate Sonali Bhardwaj, the play moved the audience with its sublime portrayal of the tough time they go through, sensitive screenplay and best use of light and sound.

The cast comprised renowned theatre artistess Bhumika Dube, Priyanka Charan, Taranjit Kaur and Vaibhav Raj Gupta of Anunaad Performing Arts. The play aimed at opening a discussion and sensitise the gathering about the topic of losing a body part that defines one's sexual identity.

The story of this play revolves around the lead character, Sandhi, a young, independent woman who discovers she has breast cancer. As she battles it, her fear of loss and struggle of coming to terms with her body and her transient relationships are highlighted. The story takes the audience on the journey of a woman in the process of self-discovery as a complete human being with an incomplete body.
