Kottaikumar (Naam Tamilar Katchi), P.Periyapullan (A) Selvam (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam), P.Viswanathan (Congress), Soniagandhi (All India Puratchi Thalaivar Makkal Munnettra Kazhagam), M.Panneerselvam (Puthiya Tamilagam), A.Maduraiveeran (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), K.Meyyar (Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) (Liberation)), K.Sethuraman (Independent), S.Boopathi (Independent), K.Manikandaprabu (Independent), M.Murugan (Independent), C.Mohanram (Independent), and C.Ramesh (Independent) — 13 candidates contesting from Melur in Tamil Nadu's 2026 Assembly Election. Votes cast across this constituency are now being counted, and early trends from each round will be closely watched as the day unfolds. Melur is a General constituency. In 2021, Periyapullan @ Selvam P. of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam won by a margin of 35,162 votes. The 2016 winner was P.
