In Mayiladuthurai, YN Jamal Mohamed Younoos of Congress secured a comfortable victory, polling 68,011 votes and defeating PMK’s A Palanisamy by a margin of 10,845 votes. TVK’s SS Haroon Rasheed finished third with 52,538 votes, as the constituency went in favour of Congress.
