BELAGAVI: Former All-India Congress Committee president Rahul Gandhi said on Saturday that 2.5 lakh government posts lying vacant will be filled if the Congress comes to power in Karnataka.
"We are going to provide employment to 10 lakh youngsters in five years," he said, addressing rallies after campaigning for Congress candidates Ganesh Hukkeri in Chikkodi-Sadalaga constituency and Satish Jarkiholi in Yamakanmardi.

He said the state government will also spend Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the state's farmers. "We'll dedicate a lot of funds to farmers. We are also going to give a subsidy of Rs 7 to dairy farmers," Rahul said.
The Congress leader asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was silent when the Karnataka Contractors' Association lodged a complaint about the "40% commission government" of the BJP in the state. "Instead of talking about other issues, the PM should tell the people of Karnataka what action he has taken on the corruption charges against the BJP. How many were inquired about and how many were sent to jail?" he asked.
Rahul also alleged that Modi doesn't take the names of his party leaders on the dais while addressing rallies. "It means either those leaders are most corrupt or Modi doesn't want to take their names," he said.
