HIREKERUR/KANAKAGIRI/SHAHAPUR: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday took on BJP over corruption and rising prices of cooking gas and asked people to keep them in mind when they vote on May 10.
At a rally in Hirekerur, Priyanka alleged that the BJP government in Karnataka looted Rs 1. 5 lakh crore public money in its three-and-halfyears’ rule in Karnataka.

“Be aware of BJP’s loot before going to polls and vote carefully keeping the future of your children,” Priyanka said. She also criticised the Prime Minister, union ministers, and chief ministers from BJP ruled states who have been campaigning in Karnataka for not talking about the people of the state.
“These people are seeking votes on caste and religion lines and not on development. PM Modi has a list of how many times he was abused by Congress but has no list of how many hospitals and schools he built and how many jobs he created for people of Karnataka,” she taunted.
In Kanakagiri, Koppal district, she asked people to take a look at the gas cylinder in their homes and calculate how much its price has increased when they go to vote.
Seeking support for the Congress candidate Shivraj Tangadagi, Priyanka appealed to people to give a full majority to the Congress party to get their problems addressed.
In Kalaburagi, AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge sought to give back to PM Modi and union minister Amit Shah for criticising Congress for not developing the nation in 50 years of governance. “Congress built the nation,” he said.
Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari said the dream of BJP is to build a joyful society without any discrimination between caste, creed or gender.
