Assam HS result 2026 on April 28: The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) will declare the Higher Secondary (HS) Result 2026 on April 28, ending uncertainty over the Class 12 outcome after a fake notice claiming an earlier declaration date had circulated online. The result date was confirmed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, bringing official clarity after days of speculation.

The announcement is significant for more than 3.3 lakh candidates who appeared in the examinations this year across Arts, Science, Commerce and Vocational streams. The result is expected to be published online through official portals, with marksheets and pass statistics to be released alongside stream-wise performance data.

Participation remained above three lakh
The HS examinations for 2026 were conducted from February 13 to March 17, while practical tests were held earlier in the examination cycle. Available board data shows around 3.3 lakh students appeared this year, maintaining the participation scale seen in recent sessions.

Arts continued to account for the largest share of candidates at nearly 2.4 lakh. Science had more than 55,000 examinees, while Commerce recorded around 17,000 students. Vocational streams also formed part of the overall candidate pool.

The volume of candidates once again makes the Assam HS examination among the state’s largest public assessments. Results across all streams are scheduled to be released together.

Result pattern points to late-April release
The April 28 declaration follows the broad timeline seen in recent years. In 2025, the Assam HS result was announced on April 30, while the 2024 result came in early May. The trend has reflected efforts to align school-leaving results with undergraduate admission schedules.

Last year’s overall pass percentage was above 88 per cent, with Science recording the highest pass rate among the major streams. Stream-wise outcomes for 2026 will be closely tracked when the board publishes detailed performance data.

Beyond pass percentages, the board is expected to release information on first division scores, distinctions, subject-wise trends and district-level performance, figures that often shape the larger academic picture emerging from the result.

Fake April 24 notice was dismissed
Before the official announcement, a notice claiming the result would be published on April 24 had circulated widely on social media. ASSEB had termed that notice fake, and a board official had stated no final decision had been taken at that stage.

The clarification came amid heightened attention from students awaiting updates. With the April 28 declaration now confirmed, the focus has shifted from speculation to the release itself.

Students will be able to access their marks online once the result link is activated. The board is also expected to issue details related to rechecking, photocopies of answer scripts and compartment procedures after the declaration.
