Earlier expectations around digital evaluation timeline
Initial reports had suggested that the digital marking system could lead to an earlier result announcement. However, the board has reiterated that it is following its usual academic calendar, with results aligned to a May schedule.
In 2025, the Class 12 results were declared on May 13, with an overall pass percentage of 88.39 per cent. Similar timelines were observed in previous years, reinforcing a consistent mid-May declaration pattern after pandemic-related disruptions.
A notable development this year was the announcement of the Class 10 results on April 15, 2026, which covered over 24 lakh students. This early release had heightened expectations around the Class 12 result timeline.
Official websites and alternative result platforms
Once declared, students will be able to access their provisional marksheets through official CBSE websites, including cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, and cbseresults.nic.in. Login credentials such as roll number, school number, and admit card ID will be required.
In addition, DigiLocker and the UMANG application will provide digital access to marksheets, along with SMS-based services to reduce traffic on official portals.
Students downloading their results online will receive provisional documents initially, while original marksheets and certificates will be distributed through schools later.
Re-evaluation and compartment process after results
Following the declaration, CBSE will open the window for post-result processes, including verification of marks, re-evaluation, and access to answer sheet copies.
Students who are unable to clear one or more subjects will be eligible to appear for compartment examinations as per the board’s schedule.
With the evaluation phase nearing completion and the digital system operating without disruption, focus now remains on the official announcement expected in the third week of May.
