Visakhapatnam: Locals of Kothakota in Anakapalli district protested against govt’s neglegence by mimicking fishing and planting in the gaping potholes on the roads.
The
protest was organised by the CPM, CPI, AP Girijana Sangam fifth schedule sadhana committee, and agricultural labour union at BN road near Kothakota high school.
According to CPM leader K Govinda Rao, thousands of commuters from Anakapalli, Ravikamatham, and Buchchayyapeta mandals in the erstwhile combined Visakhapatnam district use this road daily.
“An average of 10 accidents occur daily on this stretch.. Despite the promises made by the Anakapalli MP and local MLA to repair the road immediately after the election, no significant repairs have been carried out . Pregnant women have had to give birth midway due to the poor road conditions," said Govinda Rao.
