It may be recalled that JC JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son JC Asmit Reddy who were arrested and lodged at the Kadapa central prison in connection with BS III vehicle scam, were released from the Kadapa central prison on Thursday.
A large number of Telugu desam party workers and followers of the JC family congregated in large numbers at the Kadapa central prison and resorted to sloganeering when JC Prabhakar Reddy was being released from the prison.
A massive rally with nearly 200 odd vehicles was also carried out by JC Prabhakar Reddy's followers. Enroute, JC Prabhakar Reddy had an altercation with police inspector Devendra Kumar.
Though police officials raised an objection for carrying out such a massive rally amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic induced lockdown in parts of Kadapa and Anantapur, JC Prabhakar Reddy did not heed and went ahead with the rally.

Following a complaint lodged by Devendra Kumar against JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son JC Asmith Reddy for behaving in a high-handed manner with him while he was on duty, Tadipatri rural police arrested both the father and son duo in an SC/ST atrocities case. They were summoned to the Tadipatri police station and taken into custody amidst high-drama.
Both Anantapur and Kadapa police also slapped cases against several Telugu desam party functionaries including former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy, his son JC Asmit Reddy and former MP JC Divakar Reddy's son JC Pavan Reddy under the disaster management act on Friday.
JC family continues to allege that the ruling YSR Congress party led government would continue to harass them with cases and target their financial and political roots using the police department and all other resources.
Following the arrests of JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son JC Asmith Reddy, tension prevailed at Tadipatri, prompting the police department to rush in additional deployment of forces to keep the situation under control.
