Court stays brick kilns on temple lands
Vijayawada: The high court on Tuesday stayed setting up of brick kilns on temple lands at Kavuluru village under G Konduru mandal in NTR district and directed the officials concerned to submit all details pertaining to temple lands and setting up of brick kilns on those lands. G Krishna Rao from Vijayawada moved the HC with a PIL contending that about 20 acres of land belonging to Sri Santana Venugopala Swamy and Sri Anjaneya Swamy temples have been encroached by private persons who have set up brick kilns illegally.

Despite representations given to officials concerned, no action has been taken to remove the encroachments.
The bench headed by Chief Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra and Justice Ninala Jayasurya directed the officials to take steps to remove the encroachments from temple lands.
