VARANASI: Practice and application of knowledge gained from experience are key to 'jugaad' that has a greater utility for the society. This was the opinion of vice-chancellor, Gautam Buddha Technical University, Lucknow, Kripa Shankar. He was in the city to inaugurate the two-day national seminar on 'jugaad technology in manufacturing', organised by the main workshop under the Institute of Technology,
Banaras Hindu University, on Saturday.
Saying that experience and knowledge of practical applications were crucial for acquiring skill in 'jugaad', he also emphasised that it was also becoming a pre-requisite for coming up with new ideas and innovations that had benefits for the common man. Earlier, programme coordinator AK Jha highlighted the aims and objectives of the seminar.
A number of paper presentations and demonstrations on 'jugaad' also took place. superintendent, main workshop (IT-BHU), SK Mandal and other senior mechanic and staffers were also present.
