Girl shot at by boy’s father after complaint of molestation

Gorakhpur: Father of a ninth standard boy opened fire at a girl during a meeting with teachers inside the school premises on Wednesday afternoon. The school administration had called the boy’s father following the molestation complaint made by the girl. Police has arrested the father and recovered a pistol from the spot. Condition of the girl is stated to be unstable.
Palak Jaiswal, resident of Turkman pur under Rajghat police station, gave a written complaint to a teacher against her classmate, Vikas Tripathi. Vikas used to call her and send messages using a mobile phone. He also teased her face to face. However, after Palak’s refusal, he became aggressive which eventually led to Palak giving a written complaint to a teacher, Harsh Vardhan. When the letter reached principal, Abha Raj, she constituted a committee and the committee decided to suspend the boy for five days and the school administration also called Vikas’s father, Triyogi, resident of Jagannnath pur under Kotwali police station. On Wednesday, during the meeting around 2pm, Triyogi Tripathi opened fire at Palak in front of teachers inside the school premises. Two bullets hit Palak’s shoulder. Some teachers rushed her to the district hospital while the other teachers chased Triyogi and handed him to the police. SSP, Dilip Kumar reached the spot and also visited district hospital to meet Palak.
Gorakhpur MP, Yogi Adityanath also reached district hospital and met Palak. “It is a shocking incident. Police has arrested the accused and also recovered weapon from the spot,” Yogi said.
While talking to TOI, SSP, Dilip Kumar said, “it is a shameful act. We have arrested Triyogi Tripathi. A case has been registered and the weapon has been recovered. Strict action will be taken against the man. We are with the brave girl who spoke against the evil. We have started the probe and culprit will be punished.”
