2 killed over land dispute in different areas

Varanasi: A school teacher was beaten to death in Mamri village under Manihan police station, while another person was beaten to death in the Bhatevara area under Vindhyachal police station in Mirzapur district over land dispute on Thursday night.
Mirzapur ASP (city) Nitesh Singh said that in Bhatevara village under Vindhyachal police station area, a local native and school headmaster Pramod Kumar Tiwari (58) was returning home after attending Durga Puja celebrations late on Thursday night when his rivals attacked him with sharp weapons and sticks causing his death. He was taken to Saroi Primary Health Centre, where doctor declared him brought dead. On being informed Vindhyachal police started investigation.
SP Abhinandan and SP city Nitesh Singh also reached the spot. The police said that victime had a land dispute with his rivals. The accused were held.
In Mamri village under the Madihan police station area one Dharamraj Yadav (55) was beaten with sticks by his neighbour Doodhnath Maurya and his associates over a grazing land dispute. ASP (Operation) OP Singh said a named FIR was lodged against Doodhnath and he was arrested.
Teams were engaged to arrest his accomplices. tnn
