NADIAD: Mahemdabad police arrested two persons for the theft of food and nutrition supplements meant for children at an anganwadi. Sources said the arrests were made after Kailashben Chauhan, an anganwadi worker from Sojali village of Mahemdabad taluka lodged a complaint against her husband, Manish Chauhan, and brother in law Ramsingh Chauhan.
She had found several packets of 'sukhdi' and 'balbhog' missing from her centre in Indiranagri last week.

Last week, police had seized an autorickshaw with 516 packets of sukhdi and balbhog, worth Rs 5,320, being transported by the accused.
The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) officer at Kheda, Savitaben Bhanbhor, told TOI, "This is the first incident of an Anganwadi worker filing a case for the theft of nutritional food supplements."
