Thieves steal laptops, cash from five cars
Vadodara: After women and temples, thieves and conmen have made cars their new targets in the city.
In less than 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday, laptops, mobile phones, cash and other valuables worth Rs1 lakh were stolen by thieves from parked cars in different areas.
Yuvrajsinh Vaghela, a transporter living in Chhani, lost his two laptops from his car which was parked near gate 3 of Sayajibuag on Sunday morning.

Vaghela had taken his car to Sayajibaug. After morning walk when he returned to his car at 9am, he found that a window of his car was broken and the laptops were missing.
A couple living in Vasna lost a smart phone worth Rs25,000, Rs1,500 cash and clothes from their car in the early hours of Sunday when they were at a gym on Gotri Road. Victim Dr Neeraj Chavda told police that thieves targeted his car and another car which was parked beside his.
Another doctor Alkesh Trivedi, who lives on Vasna Bhayli Road, was conned by a man when he went to a photo copy centre in Nizampura on Saturday. Trivedi told police that when he was about to leave from there, a man approached him to inform that there was leakage of oil from his car. When Trivedi got down to check it, the conman’s accomplice fled with Trivedi’s bag which had his laptop, bank documents and Rs5,000 cash.
In another incident on Dabhoi Road reported on Saturday, thieves broke window of a car belonging to Saeed Ahmed Siddiqui, who lives on Ajwa Road. Siddiqui told cops that his laptop, bank documents and Rs15,000 cash were stolen from his car which was parked outside his office.
