Vadodara: To support patient care infrastructure, Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Limited (MGVCL) on Saturday donated medical equipment worth Rs 35 lakh to state-run Sir Sayajirao Gaekwad (SSG) Hospital as its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The power utility company handed over an image intensifier television (IITV) system worth Rs 15 lakh to the hospital's orthopaedics department and a sonography machine worth Rs 20 lakh to the pulmonary medicine department. The equipment was inaugurated by Vadodara Member of Parliament Hemang Joshi.
Praising the quality of treatment at SSG Hospital, Joshi said such initiatives strengthen healthcare services for poor patients. He lauded MGVCL for its contribution and urged other companies to come forward to support public healthcare.
SSG Hospital superintendent Dr Ranjan Aiyar said the new equipment would enhance diagnostic and treatment capabilities, particularly benefiting poor patients.
Many senior officials and faculty members were at the event, including orthopaedics department head and faculty dean Dr Hemant Mathur, additional medical superintendent Dr Shreya Shah, in-charge dean Dr Jivaraj Damor, RMO Dr Hitendra Chauhan, pulmonary medicine specialist Dr Jitendra Sisodiya and medical store in-charge Dr Jagruti Chaudhary.
MGVCL officials such as additional chief engineer D V Patel, company secretary V M Chavan, senior engineer Pankaj Thanwal and executive engineer P N Shah, were also present.
