Jewellery, cash worth 2.75L stolen after house cleaning

Vadodara: A couple residing on Bil-Kalali Road allegedly lost jewellery and cash worth Rs 2.75 lakh after hiring workers from a private cleaning services firm to clean their house. Alpesh Jain lodged the complaint at Atladara police station against Heera Kir, Babu Kir and Praksh Kir.According to the complaint, Jain's wife had hired the workers from a maintenance company to clean their rooms a few days ago. The three men came to their residence and cleaned the rooms on the first floor while Jain's wife was at home. After the work was completed, Jain paid them Rs 5,000, after which they left on a motorbike.Later, when Jain went to the first floor and checked his cupboard, he became suspicious. On opening the locker, he found gold jewellery and cash worth Rs 2.75 lakh missing.As the cupboard key had been left on the first floor while the workers were cleaning the house, Jain suspected the trio of theft. When he tried to contact them, their phones were switched off, following which he approached the police.
