Fatehgunj police have cracked the case of the murder of a 17-year-old girl in Sama area of the city.It has transpired that the girl was killed by a youth, who was in love with her and wanted to elope with her.

VADODARA: Fatehgunj police have cracked the case of the murder of a 17-year-old girl in Sama area of the city. It has transpired that the girl was killed by a youth, who was in love with her and wanted to elope with her.
The girl, Kajal Bharwad, was stabbed to death on July 25 when she was returning to her residence in Chamundanagar after delivering buttermilk at Khodiyarnagar.

Her body was found at an isolated place with multiple stab wounds.
The police detected the case using the call details of a public phone that Kajal had used. The police obtained the call details of the phone to which the call was made. Using these, the police zeroed down upon one Devendra Singh Yadav.
Devendra Singh's interrogation revealed that he was aware about the murder and that two of his friends Vishwanath Yadav and Ravi Singh Yadav were involved in the incident. The duo had been absconding since the murder, but the police got information that they were coming to the city and would go to Nyay Mandir area. The police nabbed the duo from there.
Vishwanath had got furious when Kajal refused to elope with him as her marriage had been fixed by her family. In a fit of rage he stabbed her repeatedly even as Ravi Singh held her. The police are also looking for one Jitendra Singh Yadav, who was allegedly present at the murder spot. Vishwanath and Ravi were remanded in police custody for six days on Friday by a local court.
