TVK man booked for involving kids in campaign

Trichy: A TVK functionary was booked near Perambalur on Thursday for allegedly involving children in election campaign. T Dharmenthiran, party union secretary, accompanied TVK candidate in Kunnam constituency, M Revathy, to canvass votes in Sathanur Kudikadu village on Mar 31.During the campaign, Dharmenthiran made some children carry party banners and posters, and also uploaded videos of it on social media. Noticing this, election officials complained at Maruvathur police station on Thursday. A case was registered and he was booked under Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for violating EC guidelines. Investigation is in progress.
