Trichy: New airport terminal to be ready next year

TRICHY: The construction work on the new international terminal at Trichy airport is likely to be completed by next year, said airport director-officiating G L Lallu here on Monday.
Hoisting the national flag on the occasion of the 76th Independence Day at Trichy international airport on Monday, Lallu said that the upcoming new international terminal could be ready by June 2023.
He also mentioned about the other work of runway resurfacing to make the aircraft operations safer. Lallu also said that the parallel taxi track construction will also help increase the present peak hour traffic from 12 to 20 or more. The airport can be equipped with 18 bays with the construction of the 10 new bays at the new terminal to operate more flights from Trichy airport. He also extended his thanks and appreciation to all the stakeholders for ensuring the smooth operation of the airport.
