Jewellery, cash stolen from cars, house

Trichy: Police have begun investigation into two incidents in which valuables were stolen from cars on Saturday.
The Jeeyapuram police said S Ilancheran of Poonampalayam near Mannachannallur is working as a village administrative officer at Kodiyalam. On Saturday, he had parked his car near the Navagraha temple at Palur and gone for darshan. When he returned, he saw a windshield of the vehicle broken and a sum of 1 lakh and two mobile phones stolen.The Jeeyapuram police have registered a cse.
In another incident on Saturday, R Dinesh Kumar of Nagamangalam had parked his car outside a bakery and gone inside. On his return, he found 2.5 sovereigns of ornaments, a sum of 10,000 cash and some passbooks missing. The Manikandam police said he had forgotten to lock the car.
The Thuvakudi police have registered a case of house break-in at Thuvakudi malai area. K Arjunan, 51 of Kamarajar Street had gone for work leaving his house locked. When he returned in the evening, he found 3.5 sovereigns of ornaments kept in the bureau stolen. Police said burglars had gained entry into the house by breaking open the roof.
