Trichy: Farmers in Trichy district have urged the concerned officials to provide details of the loan amount allocated to each crop. Speaking at the monthly grievance day meeting at the collector office here on Friday,
Shanmugasundaram, a farmer from Mannachanallur alleged that despite farmers from various blocks in the district having already completed kuruvai cultivation, they are unable to get crop loans, as primary agriculture credit cooperative societies (PACCS) were clueless on the scale of finance.
“When we approach the cooperative society secretaries, they express their inability to determine the scale of finance. As the cooperative department is yet to share the same, secretaries determine the credit amount on their own as per their whims and fancies. So, cooperative authorities should conduct a meeting with farmers and the scale of finance should be determined,” Shanmugasundaram said.
