T N Prathapan seeks CBI probe

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even though the government has cancelled the permission given for mining at Chakkittapara in Kozhikode, the controversy over it has not subsided. MLA T N Prathapan, one among the green brigade MLAs, wrote a letter to the chief minister seeking a CBI probe into the issue.
Prathapan has told the chief minister about the need to bring out the facts behind the sanction given for mining in the said area.If the sanction was given during the tenure of the previous government, then it was the duty of the UDF government to bring out the people who were involved in it, the letter said.Earlier, government chief whip P C George had demanded a CBI probe into the issue.
