Marxist weekly to face privilege proceedings

thiruvananthapuram: speaker vakkom purushothaman on friday referred to the house privileges and ethics committee for further inquiry the notice of breach of privilege against the cpm mouthpiece chintha, which had portrayed the chair and the chief minister as ''autocrats'' in an article written against the backdrop of the suspension of three opposition mlas last month.purushothaman told the house that he had received a complaint from t n prathapan (cong) seeking initiation of privilege proceedings against the author of the article, c p narayanan, chief editor v s achuthanandan (cpm politburo member and leader of opposition in the assembly) and k chandran, printer and publisher. he said the article had appeared in the oct 26, 2001 issue of the weekly.
