THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP''s Kerala unit on Wednesday wanted an "outside agency" to probe the attack on some members of the Missionaries of Charity in Kozhikode and condemned the attempts to "falsely implicate" the BJP and Sangh parivar workers in the case.
Briefing journalists on the deliberations of the party''s state leadership meet held at Kottayam on Tuesday, BJP state General Secretary K Raman Pillai said only a comprehensive probe by an investigating agency from outside the state would bring out the "real facts" of the Kozhikode incident.
Pillai said his party condemned the attack but wanted the probe also to examine whether there was any attempt for organised religious conversion in the area and the "disappearance" of Kenyan national, brother Bernard, who was injured in the incident.
Though BJP was against "forcible conversions", the party recognised citizens'' right to believe and propagate any religion of their choice, Pillai added.
