KALYAN: As heavy rains lashed
Kalyan town in Thane district of Maharashtra on Monday, water entered inside 400 plus houses located in the low lying areas.
Due to heavy rains, water entered inside low lying areas such as - Austin Nagar, Vijay Patil Nagar, Adivali and Dhokali.

A landslide was also reported in Patripul area. However, no person was injured in a landslide, however, as a precautionary measure, Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) shifted five families living close to hill to a safe place.
"Every year after heavy rains, water enter inside houses and for the last five years, I am demanding to widen nullah and drainage system. However, despite several assurance, KDMC has done nothing."'

Locals from Austin Nagar claimed that a developer from the region has blocked natural nullah due to which water entered several houses. Last year, with the help of ex-corporator Patil, locals had demolished wall but this year, developer reconstructed it, leading to flood like situation in areas.
Patil who was seen shifting locals from affected region to safer places, claimed that no KDMC officials visited the spot for any help.
