'She is like my daughter': Himachal Pradesh woman accuses BJP MLA Hansraj of harassment; leader denies charges
SHIMLA: A woman in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh has accused BJP MLA Hansraj of harassment and threatening her family, while the legislator denies the allegations and claims it's an attempt to create communal tension. The accusations surfaced through a video on social media, following an FIR filed last year where she accused him of sending obscene messages and demanding nude pictures, according to news agency PTI.

The woman alleges that people tried to defame her by claiming she took money to make accusations against the Churah MLA. She also claims she was pressured to withdraw her complaint."If any harm is done to my family members, I will not spare the MLA," the woman says in the video while crying. She claims the BJP leader's wife threatened that he would "settle scores" when he becomes a minister, adding that the MLA has ruined her life and she has nothing to lose now.The woman turned to social media expressing her lack of faith in police and other agencies, claiming they took no action and pressured her to compromise with the MLA. She also accused a doctor and a junior engineer of misbehaving with her father.Hansraj, a three-term legislator, responded with his own video refuting the allegations.
The MLA stated the woman was "like his daughter" and had made similar allegations last year, which he claims were investigated by police who gave a closure report. He says he cannot understand her motive for repeating these allegations.Hansraj suggested the accusations appear to be "a sinister move to trigger communal violence" and requested police investigation. The legislator announced plans to file a defamation case to "get to the root of the matter."He maintains the allegations are attempts to tarnish his image as an emerging leader from Chamba and to obstruct Churah's development. The woman states she posted on social media due to her distrust in official channels and claims authorities pressured her to reach a compromise instead of taking action.
