Prime accused in police recruitment scam surrenders
Dharamshala: The prime accused in Himachal Police recruitment scam surrendered before on Saturday. The accused, Ketan Choudhary, walked in to the police headquarters and surrendered before the Kangra superintendent of police.
Choudhary is a resident of Jawali area of Kangra district. Earlier this month, the kingpin of recruitment scam, Vikram, had also surrendered before the police in same manner after avoiding arrest for almost five months.
On August 11, 2019, Himachal Police had conducted recruitment exam at Paraur area of Kangra to fill up 1,063 posts in the department. During the exam, CID and police arrested four youths impersonating as aspirant.
So far, police have arrested persons from Rajasthan, Haryana and Himahcal Pradesh. Investigation officials suspect involvement of the same gang in recruitment in other government departments as well.
