LUDHIANA: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized 8.6kg of cannabis in Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi.
So far three arrests have been made by the agency in connection with this case and further probe is on.
According to a source, “Recently based upon specific inputs team of NCB Chandigarh Zone busted an HP-Punjab Narco Group. 8.6kg of cannabis has been seized from a vehicle in Mandi.
The contraband was concealed under the vehicle in a cavity and three accused who belong to Punjab were apprehended.
Later on, in the follow-up of the operation, searches were conducted near Ludhiana in Malerkotla and Patiala.
Further investigation is still on in the case and more arrests are likely soon.
Source also informed that efforts are on to identify the kingpin of the racket and it is believed that the group engaged in this narco trade might have ferried contraband earlier as well on this route.
