193 Covid cases, two deaths in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh

Punjab registered 103 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths on Sunday, while 66 persons contracted the virus in neighbouring Haryana. Himachal Pradesh reported 24 new infections in the last 24 hours.

CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: Punjab registered 103 new Covid-19 cases and two deaths on Sunday, while 66 persons contracted the virus in neighbouring Haryana. Himachal Pradesh reported 24 new infections in the last 24 hours.
One death each was reported from Bathinda and Ludhiana districts of Punjab, taking the total death toll in the state to 20,553. The overall cumulative count has reached 7,93,053.
There are 804 active cases in the state and the positivity rate was recorded at 1.86%.

A total of 5,531 Covid tests were conducted during the day, said the health authorities.
In Himachal, 107 positive patients recovered from the infection. The cumulative caseload in the hill state reached 3,22,068 with 452 active cases, 3,17,378 recoveries and 4,217 fatalities. Since 7 pm on Saturday, a total of 533 samples were tested in the state, said the health authorities.
In Haryana, 170 recoveries were recorded during the day. There was no fatality in the state and active caseload stood at 1,413.
Notably, decline in new cases has impacted the positivity rate, which was reported at 1.24%. Increased recoveries resulted in 98.87% recovery rate, while the death rate remained stable at 1%.
The overall case count in the state has gone up to 10,78,307, with 10,66,129 recoveries and 10,742 deaths.
