People’s leader RG Lyngdoh cremated in Shillong

Shillong: Hugely popular with the masses, the mortal remains of peoples’ leader RG Lyngdoh were confined to the flames at the electric crematorium in the city on Sunday in the presence of hundreds of admirers.
Bah Bob, as he was popularly known, had opted for cremation as his last rites. People from all walks of life attended his funeral service. A former home minister of Meghalaya, he is credited with ruling out militancy from the state.
Robert Garnett Lyngdoh passed away at his residence in Nongrim Hills here on Friday. He was 62.
