Meghalaya reports 101 fresh Covid cases, 74 recoveries

SHILLONG: Meghalaya logged 101 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the total number of active cases up to 724. The state also registered 74 cases of recovery.
Thus far, Meghalaya has recorded 95,386 confirmed cases of Covid, including 1,605 deaths and 93,057 recoveries. The West Garo Hills, including Tura, reported the maximum number of fresh cases at 42 on Saturday, with the district accounting for 421 active cases, the highest in the state.
In the East Khasi Hills, including capital Shillong, the total number of active cases stood at 118. The district reported 25 fresh cases of infection on Saturday, followed by South Garo Hills at 10, as per official statistics.
“Currently, 46 Covid patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals in the state,” a health official said.
