SHILLONG: Meghalaya registered 95 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday, taking the number of active cases in the state to 649, even as 11 more recoveries took the number of recovered cases up to 13, 997.
“Of the fresh Covid-19 cases detected today (Saturday), 50 were in the East Khasi Hills, 16 in West Jaintia Hills, 11 in West Khasi Hills, 10 in Ri-Bhoi, six in East Jaintia Hills and one in West Garo Hills district,” a senior official in the state health and family welfare department said.
With 475 active Covid-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, including Shillong, is the most-affected district in the state followed by West Jaintia Hills with 97 active cases and Ri-Bhoi with 33 active cases as on date. So far, Meghalaya has registered 14,798 confirmed Covid-19 cases, including 152 fatalities due to the disease. tnn
