Udhayanidhi hands over aid worth 41.54 crore in Krishnagiri
Krishnagiri: Tamil Nadu youth welfare and sports minister Udhayanidhi Stalin handed over welfare measures worth 41.54 crore to 3,293 beneficiaries here on Monday.
Speaking on the women’s entitlement scheme, the minister said Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin has been issuing 1,000 to each woman, as a brother. “It is an entitlement amount and each woman’s mother house gift,” he stated.

He added that as many as 1.06 crore women were receiving the entitlement dole across the state. “As many as 4.58 lakh women from Krishnagiri district had applied, and many of them have received the amount in their bank accounts,” he said. He also appealed to the women who are yet to receive the amount, to go for appeal through e-seva centers. “Their applications will be processed at the earliest and the money will be issued if they’re eligible,” he added. He also inspected the construction work of a vegetable processing godown which is being built at a cost of 26.82 crore at Sennapalli panchayat, and a future mobility park at SIPCOT premises in Shoolagiri and Maruthandapalli panchayats. “This park will be set up on 300 acres at an estimated cost of 3,000 crore,” he said, adding that the park is set to attract 2,000 crore investments from India and abroad and will provide employment opportunities to over 5,000 people.
Earlier in the day, the minister met with Krishnagiri district officials at the collectorate and later attended party events in the evening.
On Sunday night, Udhayanidhi Stalin inspected the Adi Dravidar Welfare hostel in the town.
He recommended to the officials concerned to place the hostel warden Murugan under suspension for not maintaining the purchase and materials stock register properly. He was accompanied by minister for food and civil supplies R Sakkarapani, Congress MP A Chella Kumar, MLAs Y Prakash (Hosur), Mathialagan (Bargur), Ramachandran (Thally), district collector K M Sarayu and other officials.
