10-year-old succumbs to stab injuries
Namakkal: A 10-year-old girl who was among three people who were stabbed by a mentally challenged person here on July 27, succumbed to injuries on Thursday.
Chief minister MK Stalin announced a compensation of 3 lakh to the girl’s family. He also announced a compensation of 1 lakh each to the families of the injured.
The deceased, identified as P Dashmitha of Sakthi Naickenpalayam village near Tiruchengode, died without responding to treatment.

Those injured were identified as P Thangaraju, 50, and R Muthuvel, 35. Stalin has also instructed the health department to ensure that Thangaraju and Muthuvel received specialised medical care. “All three were admitted to a private hospital for treatment, but Dashmitha’s condition deteriorated, leading to her death on Thursday,” said a police officer from Tiruchengode rural police station.
