Services bags gold in equestrian

JAMSHEDPUR: Favourite Services bagged their first gold medal in the team event of equestrian on the inaugural day with 112 points while Haryana with 109 got silver and Bihar remained happy with bronze securing 99.5.
Putting the crowd to witness some class performances, the team of Major Kishan Yadav, DFR Mahesh Patil, DFR P J Sakpal and R N Shinde bagged the first gold medal for Services in the tent pegging team event.
The Haryana team of ASI Nar Singh, ASI Ram Bhagat and ASI Rameshwar Das, too, played equally well but they fell short of four points from the gold medal. The Bihar team led by G Jitendra Singh, G Shahnawaz Khan, Yogendra Yadav and Havildar Trilok Prasad also made a good effort but had to come third.
A total of nine teams, including host Jharkhand, are participating in the event being played at Gopal Maidan.
