Jharkhand CID Busts International Child Exploitation Ring, Two Arrested
Bokaro: Jharkhand CID busted an online child sexual exploitation racket operating through an online messaging app and arrested two accused from Giridih district. Investigation revealed that illegal Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM) was allegedly being circulated and sold to users in Middle East countries, including Oman and the UAE, along with Bangladesh. Police recovered objectionable digital content during raids and intensified cybercrime surveillance, the CID stated on Saturday.
According to a press release, a case has been registered following actionable intelligence inputs regarding the circulation and sale of Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM) online.
During the course of investigation and technical surveillance, CID teams conducted raids in the Koldih area of Giridih district and arrested Wahab Ansari and Hasan Raza. Officials said digital forensic examination of their mobile phones and other electronic devices led to the recovery of objectionable content linked to online child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Investigators also identified multiple online groups and channels where the accused were active participants involved in circulating and exchanging illegal material. Preliminary findings revealed that the content was allegedly being sold to individuals in Oman, Bangladesh and the UAE.
The CID stated that the operation was part of Jharkhand police’s intensified efforts to combat cybercrimes against children and dismantle digital exploitation networks operating across borders.
Police also appealed to citizens to remain vigilant and report any cybercrime, especially offences related to women and children. Officials reiterated that the creation, possession, transmission or sharing of Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM/CSEAM) is a grave punishable offence under Indian law.
Citizens have been urged to report such crimes through cybercrime.gov.in or by approaching the nearest police station.
