Ranjan said, "Non-supply of drinking water to so many people at the time of Navaratra celebrations was a serious lapse on the part of the senior officials of the PHED department as they did not undertake the repair work seriously."
The DC issued directives to PHED authorities that no official will be granted any leave during Durga Puja and Bakrid. He also ordered the engineer to keep sufficient spare parts in it stock so that pumps can be repaired quickly.
