Doctors boycott outdoor duty
Daltonganj: All outdoor medical services at the government sadar hospital here remained paralyzed for the second day on Friday. Doctors are up in arms to protest against the manhandling of civil surgeon Yogender Mahto by activists of Bharatiya Janta Yuva Morcha (BJYM) on Wednesday.
Their grouse was that an outsider posing as a staff had asked for Rs 200 for the treatment of a patient.

P K Singh, the hospital's programme manager, confirmed the disruption of outdoor medical services for the second day adding that it is likely to continue for the third day as doctors have decided not to stay away from outdoor services on Saturday.
Though doctors have boycotted the outdoor services in the hospital, they are attending to patients in their private clinics as the rush of patients has gone up following the complete paralysis of outdoor medical help. Doctors, however, claimed that emergency services are unaffected. tnnPalamu DC Manoj Kumar has taken a serious note of this.
M Thakur, Daltonganj police station officer in charge said there has been no arrest so far in this case. Raids are on to nab Shyam Babu, Vijay Ojha and Jairam whom the civil surgeon Mahto had named as accused in the FIR lodged by him. One more FIR has been lodged in this case against the civil surgeon by Shyam Babu. He has accused the surgeon of intimidating and abusing him in public.
