3-day mega agri trade fair at Morabadi from June 16
Ranchi: The agriculture department is gearing up to host a mega ‘Jharkhand Krishi Vyapar Mela 2026’ at Morabadi ground from June 16 to 18 as part of its move to promote agricultural innovation and rural entrepreneurship, officials said on Tuesday.
CM Hemant Soren will inaugurate the event. Officials said that preparations have entered the final phase, with workers engaged in finishing work across the venue. Preparations began on May 28 and will be over by June 13.
A visit to the venue revealed that large exhibition pavilions, temporary structures and event infrastructure were taking shape. “Most of the construction work has been completed. We are now carrying out finishing works,” said a worker involved in the preparations.
Addressing the media, agriculture director Bidyanand Sharma Pankaj said that around 200 stalls will be set up at the venue. “The main objective is to showcase the latest agricultural techniques, innovations and equipment so that farmers of Jharkhand can become aware of modern developments in agriculture,” he said.
Pankaj added that the fair will highlight new agricultural practices focused on achieving higher productivity with lower input costs. Stalls showcasing developments in horticulture, dairy farming, animal husbandry and allied agricultural sectors will also be featured. Various agricultural products and technologies will be displayed for farmers and visitors.
The fair will bring together farmers, traders, agri-startups, researchers, machinery manufacturers and policymakers from different parts of Jharkhand and other states. Thematic sessions will also be organised, where experts from agricultural universities and institutions across the country will share their knowledge and interact with participants.
