Vasoya ‘viagra’ jibe sparks row

Rajkot: Dhoraji Congress MLA Lalit Vasoya, known to have a penchant for making controversial statements, stoked another row on Wednesday with his Facebook post taking a swipe at union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman.
Vasoya put up a photograph of a newspaper article of Sithamaram holding coronavirus responsible for price rise. Below the photograph, he put up a poster stating: “Now, I hope she doesn’t blame viagra as being responsible for population explosion.”
Vasoya also scoffed at Sitharaman saying she is sure to get a ‘gold medal’ in tall empty talks.
Reacting to Vasoya’s jibe, BJP spokesman Raju Dhruv said, “Sitharaman had expressed a possibility that coronavirus can be reason for price hike because if it hits China’s economy, it will have a spiralling effect on India too. Congress MLAs are using such derogatory language out of frustration.”
