Man arrested for abetment to suicide

Rajkot: A man was arrested for abetment to suicide on Thursday night after the suicide note left by an elderly person, who had ended his life by consuming acid in Kankot village on the outskirts of Rajkot on June 7, blamed him for driving him to suicide.
Police identified the accused as Kalpesh Dangar, a resident of Virda Vajadi village of Rajkot taluka, who had allegedly abetted the suicide of Rajendra Vyas.
Vyas, a resident of Motamavagam area in Rajkot, alleged in his suicide note, which was found on Thursday by Vyas’ son Jignesh, that Dangar had an extra-marital affair with his daughter-in-law and Jignesh’s wife Daksha.
“Vyas alleged that the relationship had resulted in frequent quarrels between the couple, following which Daksha had left Jignesh’s home and gone to stay with her parents in Kankot village, where Dangar would frequently go and meet her. When Vyas went to Kankot to meet Daksha, he found Dangar there who allegedly abused him. Deeply hurt by this, Vyas consumed acid at Daksha’s house,” said an official from Rajkot taluka police station.
