Rajkot: A chartered accountant (CA) from Junagadh was allegedly kidnapped and threatened with death over a loan dispute, before being rescued by Junagadh City B Division police within hours, officials said.The complaint was lodged by Yash Maru, a resident of Bhodka village in Manavadar taluka, against businessman Jay Odedra and others in connection with the abduction of his brother-in-law, Milan Chauhan.

According to the complaint, on Jan 23 around 9.30pm, Maru received a call from his sister Nimisha stating that her husband Milan had not returned home from office and his phone was switched off. The family searched among relatives and acquaintances but found no leads.Around midnight, a call came from Milan's phone in which he said he had been taken by Jay and was being forced to arrange Rs 60 lakh by 11am the next day, with threats not to approach the police. Another person allegedly warned that Milan would be killed if the loan-related dispute was not settled.Investigation officer Jatin Patel said Milan, who works as a loan consultant, was traced using technical surveillance after the family alerted authorities. A team from B Division police rushed towards Porbandar, where Milan was found abandoned on the Porbandar–Jamnagar road after the suspects fled, leaving their vehicle behind.Police said a manhunt is on to apprehend the accused and others involved.
