Rajkot: Burglars broke into two residential houses in Khambhara village of Anjar taluka in Kutch district between January 12 and January 15, 2026, stealing cash and gold and silver jewellery worth a total of Rs 7.19 lakh.
A complaint has been registered at the Anjar Police Station (Kutch East) by 49-year-old Virendra Vegad, who is engaged in the tailoring business.
According to the complaint, Vegad and his family had gone to Ahmedabad on Jan 12 to celebrate Uttarayan. On Jan 15, a neighbour called him to inform that the door of his house was open.
Vegad immediately returned to Khambhara and, upon checking the house, found that gold and silver ornaments and cash worth Rs six lakh had been stolen.
It was also discovered that burglars had targeted the neighbouring house of Gajanand Tank, from where jewellery and cash worth about Rs 1.20 lakh were stolen.
