RAJKOT: Local crime branch (LCB) officials on Sunday arrested seven persons in the Rs 4.93 lakh nickel theft from a transport office in Shaper-Veraval industrial estate, last Wednesday.
Kalu Mahanto, Rajesh Pasvan, Vijay alias Munna Shah, Rasik Dave, Krunal Patel, Kishor Bhil and Amit Garala were arrested for stealing and selling off 693 kg nickel from V Transport office.

"At first, we arrested Kalu, Rajesh and Vijay, natives of Uttar Pradesh," said LCB inspector A R Jankant.
"The trio confessed to having stolen the metal from the office on March 18 which they sold to an automobile shop on Gondal Road in Rajkot," Jankant said. "We also arrested shopkeeper Rasik whose interrogation led us to Krunal, a factory owner in Vaidvadi area, and Kishore and Amit. Rasik had sold the consignment to these three persons," the official said.
