10 members of Odiya gang booked under GujCTOC

Rajkot: The city crime branch booked 10 members of ‘Odiya Gang' under the stringent Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime Act (GujCTOC) and arrested nine of the accused. Police said the gang leader, Avesh Odiya, will be taken into custody from Bhavnagar jail and formally arrested in the case.DCP (crime) Jagdish Bangarwa said Avesh had been running an organised criminal syndicate with his associates for several years. The group, known as the Odiya gang, was involved in serious crimes including murder, attempted murder, causing grievous injuries, illegal trespass and kidnapping, robbery, obstructing government officials and assaulting them, and others since 2016. Over the past 10 years, gang members are have committed at least 15 serious offences.Those arrested include Arbazz Rauma, Sabbir alias Bodu Odiya, Imtiyaz Odiya, Nayan Dafda, Abid Odiya, Anish Odiya, Abdul Dal, Shahid Odiya and Meet Parmar. All of them are residents of the New Thorala area, ACB Bharat Basiya added.
