Bhilai: In yet another major decision against party workers, Congress has expelled 14 workers, who are said to be among the supporters of former CM Ajit Jogi, over their alleged involvement in anti-party activities. Earlier on December 29, nine congress leaders and workers including ex- mayor of Bhilai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Nirmala Yadav and eight others were also expelled from the party for not working in favour of the party’s mayoral candidate during the recent BMC elections.

Youth congress (Loksabha) president Zahir Khan, youth Congress (city) president Vivek Mishra, leader Dhruv Kumar Soni, Ahiwara president Bhuvan Sahu, Satnami Yuva Samaj president Rahul Lehre, Youth Congress (YC) representatives Iliyaz Khan and Dadu Namdev, ex-corporator Langur Soni, district president of Youth INTUC Abhishek Sharma, YC secretary Saiyyad Asif Ali, Rahul Lehre, YC in-charge (Social Media) Afroz Khan, Prakash Bharadwaj, YC secretary (Vaishali Nagar) Sadik Raza, NSUI district vice pesident Ashutosh Bajpeyi and former district president of NSUI Md Shahid were expelled for a period of six years.
An order in this regard was signed in a meeting of District Congress Committee convened in Durg on Friday. Congress Committee (city) president RN Verma and Congress Committee (Rural) president Hemant Banjare and others were present in the meeting.
“All the 14 workers were found involved in anti-party activities, and had protested against PCC decision regarding Amit Jogi’s suspension from Congress," said Hemant Banjare while speaking to TOI.
