RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh chief minister
Bhupesh Baghel on Monday said the Centre’s proposed amendments to the IAS (Cadre) Rules-1954 is against the spirit of the federal set and alleged that the BJP want to use it as yet another tool to control the state governments.
“Already there are numerous instances of Raj Bhawan being misused. Now the BJP government want to induce fear psychosis among the officers”, he told reports at the Swami Vivekananda Airport here before leaving for Uttarakhand.
Stating that he had already written a letter to Prime Minister
Narendra Modi expressing his strong reservations against the proposed amendments, the chief minister said “Civil services officers often go on deputation and the state also agree to it. Now, the centre want to change the rules. If an officer is doing a good job in a state and the centre decides to shift him to centre, will not affect the administration in the states?”, he asked.
Pointing out that the proposed deputation rules are heavily loaded in favour of the centre, Baghel said many states have already opposed the centre’s move on the ground that change in deputation rules of IAS officers would affect the state’s administration.
Replying to a question, the chief minister said the main challenges before the nation is unemployment, inflation but there are political parties trying to woo the voters raising emotive communal and caste issues. He said the ultimate loss of communal and caste hatred is of the common masses.
