PUNE: Three persons, including a 63-year-old man, fell prey to imposters posing as policemen who made away with their gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh in Wanowrie, Nigdi and Aundh on Saturday.
Vijaykumar Kulkarni (63) of Nigdi Pradhikaran has lodged a complaint with the Nigdi police stating that on Saturday, around 9.30 am, four men posing as policemen stopped him when he was walking in Nigdi Pradhikaran.

Kulkarni, in his complaint, said the suspects after 'hypnotising' him, took his chain and ring worth Rs 60,000 before fleeing.
Around 10.15 am, Priti Shetty (30) of Anand Park in Aundh fell prey to two men also posing as policemen. They stopped Shetty near a petrol pump in Aundh, warned her about an incident in the area and asked her to remove her ornaments. They pretended to help her keep them in her bag and distracted her before fleeing with her gold chain worth Rs 20,000, said assistant police inspector of Chatushrungi police station MN Walekar.
In Wanowrie, a similar incident occurred at around 1 pm. Three men posing as policemen made away with gold ornaments worth Rs 1.23 lakh from Maya Bhatija (60). The incident took place when Bhatija was walking in Kedarinagar. The suspects stopped her, talked to her about some incident in the area and told her to remove her ornaments. Bhatija was distracted like Shetty and the trio fled with her ornaments, police said.
In another case, the Dattwadi police booked five suspects including two women for allegedly duping a 43-year-old woman to the tune of Rs 20,450 on the promise of giving Ayurvedic treatment for hear eight-year-old daughter. The police said that the complainant Saroj Bhagat's daughter was suffering from an eye related problem. She had approached an Ayurvedic treatment clinic in Parvati area. The suspects took Rs 20,450 from her for the treatment and medicines. When they did not give her any medicine, the woman approached the police station and lodged the complaint, police said.
