PUNE: Not happy with the state government's approach towards Marathi medium schools, various school management officials in the city will lead a major movement on October 2 against the same.
School managements along with various educationists and students' organisations across the state are opposing the state government's rejection of applications for opening new Marathi medium schools in the state.

The Shikshan Hakka Samiti will conduct a conference on October 2 at the New English School on Tilak Road between 10 am and 6 pm, and will invite all the schools whose application has been rejected by the government.
Activist Ajay Shinde alleged, "Other schools are freely given permission to start in the state. Then why are new Marathi medium schools not allowed to function? This is injustice, and we feel Marathi medium schools must be given priority. Hundreds of applications have either been rejected or pending with the government for over two years."
Representatives from each school management whose application has been rejected will attend the conference and a further course of action will be deliberated.
